Hack or Halo staff are considered part of the ShmooCon staff - so in addition to last week's HoH tshirt, i got this one too.
And the Hak5 episode from ShmooCon is now available... you should go watch it.
ShmooCon 2008 asks where is your halo?
Hack or Halo is an annual competition at ShmooCon where you can Hack through puzzles (there were 23 puzzles this year, the winner successfully completed 8) to reign supreme, or compete in a Halo 3 tournament and be the last spartan standing out of an original field of 64 players. The Halo winner 'Zeff' was an absolute animal - set a new HoH record for number of kills in 10 minutes. With just four players, he got 34 kills in a 10 minute final round. That means he killed each of the other three players an average of 11+ times each - more than 3 kills a minute. And if that weren't enough carnage, the second place contender had 29 kills. Bodies everywhere.
I was on Hack or Halo staff for the first time this year, and had an amazingly awesome time (I even enjoyed yelling at the players to NOT TOUCH THE CONTROLLERS UNTIL I SAY YOU CAN.) Can't wait until next year - the people on the HoH team were fantastic to work with... so much fun!
The t-shirt was designed by Michael Goffin, who also designed our two badass posters...
Earlier this year, Popular Science magazine posted their Top 10 Worst Jobs in Science. Working in product security at Microsoft came in sixth. This upset a few folks, though not for the reason you might think. Sixth? SIXTH? Come on, we can do better than that!
Funny thing is, we all pretty much love the work we do and feel like it makes a tremendous positive impact. So t-shirts had to be designed to show our pride.
check it out, first fsf with both a front and back shot!
its about time I put up a FSF that wasn't from my sofa, and/or a pajama top (what was I thinking with that? I blame the percocets).
The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, sometimes known as the Pastafarian religion*, is something I've been aware of for a couple years now - in fact, I assigned one of the teams in the first BlueHat Limo Races the theme in October 2005 (and they did a great job creating a representation of His noodly visage out of a string mop and some ping pong balls). FSM was recently back in the news, if you didn't see it, Wash has the link in his blog.
I've had this shirt for a very long time; it should have made it to FSF long ago. remember, I'm a pirate, not a ninja. and FSM is pirate friendly. they've even published original research linking global warming to the decline in pirates over the last 200 years. yarrrrr.
*go to the website, read the history. some people have lost sight of the fact that it isn't a serious religion.
Normally I only post fun shirts that I would/could wear to the office. So technically this qualifies even though it is a jammie shirt. Yes, my office dress code really is that casual.
In fact, the super soft fuzzy pink blanket is a Security Blanket - a Christmas gift from work a few years ago (the best Christmas gift from the office ever, in fact). One of the MANY cool things about my organization is that we have a significant number of women - enough that we order a portion of any loot in girl friendly colors/sizes.
happy Friday from the couch again.
Q. what do you get when you combine Fun Shirt Friday with Toon Tuesday?
A. xkcd shirts.
I'm running out of fun shirts for fridays, so its time for me to go shopping anyway. Feel free to send me links to fun shirt online stores, or better yet, just send me fun shirts. I'm a ladies size M.
here it is, the shirt from the couch, where I am going to spend my day snuggled under a red slanket, eating jello, and surfing the web. maybe I'll watch a movie today.
I got this awesome shirt at Defcon from the Jinx booth, and it is finally making its long promised fsf debut. it would be nice if Jinx had this in a girl shirt instead of unisex, but s'ok. its still a very cool shirt.
I've attended five out of six BlueHat security conferences. About damn time I put a BlueHat shirt on Fun Shirt Friday. This shirt is from the most recent event, BlueHat 6. BlueHat 1 didn't have a shirt, but at some point I'm sure the BlueHat 2 and BlueHat 3 shirts will show up on FSF because I think they are pretty cool too.
and I've got to throw in a second picture just because it makes me chuckle.
